Selecting the right rose for your garden makes all the difference
The beauty and fragrance of roses creates a highlight in any garden.
Today's roses have been developed with ease-of-care and disease resistance in mind. And, of course, today's roses feature the abundant blooms you want to experience.
Roses with the American Gardens Rose Selections™ designation have been tested and grown in trial gardens around the country to weather growing conditions similar to where you live. Rose-growing experts review and rate the roses several times a year to discover their strengths and weaknesses.
The roses with the highest ratings are given the prestigious American Garden Rose Selections™ award. The AGRS™ symbol lets you know that this rose has withstood multiple years of scrutiny and evaluation to deem it appropriate for your garden.

Behind the Scenes
American Rose Garden Selections™ involve a national collaboration of gardens, nurseries, rose organizations, rose professionals and volunteers who work year-round to determine the best roses for your garden.
About American Garden Rose Selections™
American Garden Rose Selections™ was established to recognize and recommend the best garden-worthy rose varieties for the various regions of the United States through testing. The goal is to provide objective and reliable information to rose gardeners.
AGRS™ is a true national rose trial in the United States that tests the same roses in gardens all around the country.
The American Garden Rose Selections™ organization is overseen by an Executive Board and an Advisory Board comprised of internationally-recognized rose experts that represent the diversity of the rose-growing community. These bodies develop the criteria for the evaluation of roses, oversee the judging of the roses at the independent trial gardens across the country, and recommend the roses that are honored as an American Garden Rose Selections™ after evaluating the test results.
